Scottsdale Fashion Week, a fashion, design, beauty, wellness and fine-living event, is scheduled to be held on November 6-8, 2008.

Scottsdale Fashion Week 2008 will feature fashion designers and high fashion runway shows; a luxury-goods-and-services shopping pavilion; and a Milan-style Wearable ArtWalk.

The complete schedule of runway shows will feature New York fashion designer Zang Toi and Sex & the City’s Emmy-winning stylist Rebecca Weinberg. She is part of Dillard’s international contemporary designs.

There are shows from seven fashion-forward Los Angeles fashion designers presented by Estilo Boutique & Twist.

Tickets range from $25 for general admission to $37.50-$130 for a reserved seat in the Waterfront Runway Tent, which includes a complimentary Chambord Champagne cocktail, Peroni Italy beer or Fiji Water.

A $400 Super Ticket gets you a reserved seat for the entire schedule on either Friday night or Saturday night.

Malaysia International Fashion Week 2008

The Malaysia International Fashion Week 2008 (MIFW ‘08) is all set to excite the Malaysian fashion industry with a slew of exciting events slated to be held from Nov. 26 to 29 at the ballroom in The Gardens Hotel and Residences in Kuala Lumpur.

With participants expected from over 23 countries, the fashion week is set to be a platform for top fashion designers as well as upcoming fashion designers to impress the crowd and win their hearts with their new fashion creations and display of their talent.

Top Malaysian fashion designers are said to be participating in the Malaysia Fashion Week. The list include names like Carven Ong, Eric Choong, Andy Sulaiman and Jonathan Cheng.

The most anticipated fashion event of Malaysia will feature the hottest models sashaying down the ramp and create waves amongst the crowd with their enticing catwalk!

Taking on from the success of its last edition, Dubai International Fashion Week, the region’s top fashion trade event was  re-branded as Dubai Fashion Week, was the fourth seasonal installment of Dubai Fashion Week, which aimed to establish Dubai’s position in the global fashion industry and promote the regional fashion design industry.

The event was organised at Godolphin Ballroom, Emirates Twin Towers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Model sashayed down the ramp showcasing the Spring/Summer 2009 edition amidst a full house of fashion designers, corporate concerns, retailers, buyers and the fashion fraternity who were there witness the relaunch.

With both established and upcoming designers showcasing their collections simultaneously, Dubai Fashion Week 2008 sought to offer the largest platform to fresh talent with the launch of its latest ‘young generation’ talent hunt category in addition to the regular ‘Splash Emerging Talent contest’.

Portland Fashion Week has been kicked off with a soiree, a homegrown project runway bit produced by the Art Institute of Portland, and a view of Icebreaker’s spring line.

Icebreaker is an apparel company from New Zealand that makes outdoor wear of pure merino wool and not long ago moved their North American HQ to Portland.

The Art Institute of Portland is the key sponsor for the Portland Fashion Week 2008 which will be on till Sunday.  Doors open at 5 PM with a reception at 6:30 PM for ticket holders, but the runway show starts at 8 PM.

Each night, tickets are $20 general admission, which does not guarantee a seat. One has to shell out $45 for guaranteed seating.

Nah… we don’t mean to tell you that Amy Winehouse will be staging a rock show at the London Fashion Week. Instead, she is all set to be a fashion model and do the catwalk on the ramp!

Unbelievable but true

To the horror of many fashion critics, British designer Julien Macdonald has roped in Amy to appear in his show at the prestigious London Fashion Week in September.

Not withstanding her stint in rehabs, In February, French fashion house Louis Vuitton offered Amy £500,000 to appear at their show during Paris Fashion Week.

Apparently, Amy Winehouse is on a roll since she picked up several Grammy Awards recently. She is also rumoured to have bagged a private gig worth £1 million ($2.05 million) to perform in an old Russian bus garage to promote a yet to be launched art gallery.
